Apprentice Tutoring
This page relates to apprentices enrolled in the Certificate 3 Electrotechnology Electrician at a TAFE / registered training organisation (RTO), who are looking for subject tutoring.
TTA provides TAFE / RTO electrotechnology apprentice tutoring, electrical worker mentoring, and administration support.
TTA specialises in tutoring in the following subject areas:
- Magnetism
- DC circuits
- Single and three phase theory
- AC machines, transformers and rotating magnetic fields
- Control circuits and motor starting
- Cable selection
- Visual defects
Prerequisites
Students must be currently enrolled in the Certificate 3 Electrotechnology Electrician at a TAFE / registered training organisation (RTO)
Materials
Students must bring their proscribed textbooks and their workbooks.
Students doing computer based subjects must also bring their own laptop. TTA provides free WiFi.
Additionally, students must bring the following materials, which are available from TTA
Books:
- AS/NZS 3000 Electrical Installations "Wiring Rules"
- AS/NZS 3008.1.1 Electrical Installations - Selection of Cables
Stationery:
- Mathomat
- Drawing compass
- Set square
- Casio fx-82AU PLUS II calculator
- A4 38mm-3 ring binder folder with plastic sleeves
- Page tabs (4 colours)
- 4 colour pen, grey lead pencils, highlighters, 12pk coloured pencils, eraser, correction tape, and a 15cm transparent ruler.
Clothing and PPE
All students are required to wear the following PPE:
- Protective clothing as per AS/NZS 4836 (long sleeve shirt; long trousers; leather boots)
